The adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Commonly regarded as one of the great American novels. One of the first books in major American literature to be written in the vernacular. The story is told in the first person by Huckleberry "Huck" Finn, best friend of Tom Sawyer. Huck fakes his own death to escape his violent drunk of a father and sets out in search of adventure and freedom. Teaming up with Jim, an escaped slave, the two fugitives go on the run, traveling along the Mississippi River. Huck wrestles with his conscience.
